You need to assess a company’s financial soundness before granting funding or evaluate your clients’ solvency to help prevent over-indebtedness or track developments in banking networks.
Several databases compiling this information exist. They are managed by the Banque de France and include data from the eurozone’s overseas departments and territories (DCOM).
IEDOM also provides valuable insights into banking activity in these regions.
The FIBEN centralises information on French non-financial companies. Managed by the Banque de France, it lists millions of businesses with headquarters or registered addresses in France. It is a key reference tool for all those involved in financing the economy.
Is your activity focused on companies located in the overseas departments or the territories of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy? Data collected by IEDOM in these areas is integrated into the FIBEN database.
Access to FIBEN is restricted to registered members, who can consult it as part of their credit activities.
The Banque de France manages three databases of payment incidents, which are fed by banking and financial institutions.
– The Central Cheque Register (FCC):
– The National Register of Household Credit Repayment Incidents (FICP);
– The National Register of Irregular Cheques (FNCI).
The FCC and FICP help institutions to assess customer solvency and to prevent over-indebtedness and combat cheque fraud. The FNCI enables recipients to verify the validity of cheques received as payment.
You can find detailed information about how these files are maintained and accessed on the Banque de France’s website
The FIB lists all banking institutions and payment service providers authorised by the Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR), as well as all registered branches in France and Monaco. The Banque de France oversees this directory and publishes local branch data files (FGD) for its subscribers.
The FIB helps to track the evolution and geographic distribution of banking networks. It enables banks and major payment operators to verify some banking details and determine which branch is managing an account, ensuring proper routing of payment transactions.
Branches located in the eurozone Overseas Departments and Territories (DCOM) are included in the FIB, just like those in mainland France.
In the Publications and Statistics you will find financial data compiled by IEDOM.
